  • Dr. Shadee Elmasry

    Founder

    Dr. Shadee Elmasry was born and raised in New Jersey. He began studying the traditional sciences rigorously at age eighteen. He studied in Yemen, Mecca and Madina, London and Cairo under several veteran ulama. He studied Arabic, Maliki fiqh, usul, aqida and suluk.

    In addition to traditional learning, Dr. Elmasry has received a masters and PhD in religious studies, completing his masters thesis at The George Washington University and his PhD at The University of London, SOAS on Da’wa in the Works of Imam Abd Allah bin Alawi al-Haddad.

  • Uthman Qureshi

    Director & Maliki Fiqh

    Uthman Qureshi is an alumni of Noor-Ul-Iman School and graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in business. He grew up as a student of Dr. Shadee Elmasry. In 2022, during his gap year of college, he helped Dr. Shadee found Darul Fath, having the honor of being one of the school’s co-founders and its first student, and assuming the role of Executive Director. In 2023, he left medical school in order to pursue knowledge under the auspices of his teachers at Darul Fath and other luminaries from across the world, such as Shaykh Ahmed Al-Maghili and Dr. Muhammad Abadallah Al-Azhari. With his teachers, he continues his studies in Maliki Fiqh, Kalam, Usul, Nahw, Sarf, Qawa’id Fiqhiyya, Mantiq, Tasawwuf, and the other Islamic sciences.

  • Shaykh Murabit Benavidez

    Aqida

    Shaykh Murabit Benavidez was born in Fremont, California in 1979. He was raised in a Catholic, Mexican household before he embraced Islam at 19. His desire to seek Sacred Knowledge led him to Syria shortly thereafter, where he began his studies in Arabic and the Islamic Sciences. In 2002, Shaykh Murabit continued his studies in the deserts of Mauritania, in Arabic, Fiqh, Aqidah, and Tasawwuf. Some of the eminent scholars Shaykh Murabit studied under include: Murabit al-Hajj, Murabit Hadamin bin AbdurRahman, Abdullah bin Ahmad Fal, and Murabit Ahmad Fal bin Ahamadna.

  • Shaykh Harun Saleh

    Maliki Fiqh & Usul

    Harun is a Rutgers graduate with a degree in Accounting and Economics. Following his graduation, he delved into Islamic scholarship, learning from local teachers and scholars, as well as online and in Cairo. Currently, he is a student at Al Azhar University and has studied multiple texts traditionally in Maliki fiqh, Usul, Arabic, Mantiq, Hadith, Mustalah al Hadith, Aqida, and more. Harun also had the honor of speaking at the International Maliki Madhhab Conference in Algeria in 2019, where he presented his insights on Shariah rulings related to cryptocurrencies, rooted in Maliki principles. He continues his educational journey through online studies and traveling overseas to learn from his teachers in person.

  • Shaykh Imran Ahmed

    Hanafi Fiqh

    Shaykh Imran Ahmed has been privately studying the Islamic sciences part-time for well over a decade. He has an interest in many Shar'i disciplines, with a focus on Hanafi fiqh. He has studied texts in disciplines including Sarf, Nahw, Balaghah, Al-'Arud (poetic meter), Mantiq, 'Aqidah, 'Ulum al-Qur'an and Tafsir, Mustalah al-Hadith, Hadith collections, Fiqh, Usul al-Fiqh. Some of the teachers he has studied with include Shaykh Samer al-Nass, Mufti Abdur Rahman Mangera, Shaykh Faraz Rabbani, Mufti Ismail Moosa, Shaykh Jihad Brown, Shaykh Haroon Hanif, and Shaykh Mohammed Daniel.

  • Shaykh Meurad Osman

    Aqida, Hanafi Fiqh, & Arabic

    Meurad Osman studied at Darul Funun in Turkey, where he learned from some of the great scholars of the Levant, such as Shaykh Nader Abu 'Umar and many others.  He learned the various Islamic sciences such as fiqh, aqida, hadith, tajweed, and many more. He memorized many Islamic texts and Quran as part of his studies.

    He  grew up in New Jersey. He studied Sociology at Kean University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. During this time, he also served as the full-time Imam in Toms River, New Jersey. He went on to pursue the Islamic sciences from scholars both locally, as well as in the Muslim world. 

  • Maulana Nisar Chaudhry

    Hanafi Fiqh, Mantiq, & Hadith

    Mawlana Nisar Chaudhry was born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey. At the age of 10, Mawlana Nisar moved to Lahore, Pakistan, to memorize the Quran. After completing his memorization he went on to pursue Islamic Studies at the renowned Jamia Nizamia Rizviyya, Lahore.

    After 3 years, Mawlana Nisar returned back to Rutgers University where he completed his Bachelors with distinction in Philosophy and Minor in Psychology.

    After that, he spent 8 years pursuing Islamic Studies in Jordan, Egypt, Turkey, and Pakistan where he graduated from Jamia Nizamia, scoring top of the class in the Dowra Hadith Sharif program.
